Sometimes it takes
just the right window.
With enough sunshine,
and not too much water.
They don’t like wet feet.
Who can blame them?

The trouble comes
in choosing the right window.
Learning to see the quality of light,
takes time, and skill–
but mostly, willingness.
Over time, an instinct
kicks in to say—this window.
It’s perfect and the violet agrees.
