Dr. Abhijit Shahaji Khandkar is a medical pathologist and Ambedkarite-Buddhist poet based in Mumbai. Co-founder of the anti-caste poetry collective, The Reserved Compartment and the creative platform The Rhyme Republic, he is a prominent spoken-word performer who has featured on Tinder India.
His poetry is rooted in Dalit-Bahujan experience and Buddhist thought. An active member of the Ambedkar Reading Circle (Mumbai), he advocates for regional literature, its English translation, and politically engaged art that amplifies marginalized voices. He believes in the power of Sangha over idols and is currently compiling his debut poetry anthology.
